If I could go back in time, I’d buy a brand-new 1967 Chevy Impala — they just don’t make them like that anymore! Unfortunately for me, finding a pristine ’67 Chevy Impala nowadays is easier said than done.
The alternate route would be to find a tarnished old Impala and try to restore it to its former glory. But that, too, is easier said than done! Nonetheless, seeing old cars restored to the point that they’re like-new is truly a sight to behold. They even bring some to tears — just ask Fred Lamar!
In the video below, Fred is about to receive a surprise gift from his beloved grandson, Cam.
Cam and Fred are nearly inseparable. The two often travel together and share everything, including their love for cars.
One year before this video was capture, Cam made the decision to give his grandpa a very special 81st birthday present: restoring Fred’s 1957 Chevy Bel Air.
Fred first bought the car when he was 28, and he loved it so much that he neither sold it nor junked it. Instead, he kept it. But use and time had removed a lot of its luster.
Thanks to a caring grandson, though, the Chevy got a second chance at life.
Check out the heartwarming moment Cam presented Fred with his good-as-new Chevy in the video below.
